Exploring the cafes in Krakow quickly became one of my favorite parts of visiting the city. We only spent two days in Krakow (and I really wish it had been longer), but if there’s one thing you can count on me to do while traveling, it’s finding time to visit multiple coffee shops. No matter how packed an itinerary is, I’m always squeezing in a coffee stop somewhere!
What I loved most about Krakow’s cafes was the atmosphere. Many of them double as bars, so they stay busy throughout the day and well into the evening. It worked out perfectly for us because Rem could grab a beer while I ordered another coffee, and somehow neither of us felt out of place.
The energy was especially noticeable in Kazimierz, Krakow’s Jewish Quarter. The cafes, bars, restaurants, and courtyards all seem to blend together in a way that makes the neighborhood feel incredibly lively. It felt like a place where people genuinely spend time rather than rushing from one attraction to the next.
While this guide covers my favorite cafes in Krakow from our trip, it’s definitely not a comprehensive list. There are so many coffee shops throughout the city that we simply didn’t have enough time to try them all, but these are some of the ones you should definitely add to your list!
Must-Visit Cafes in Krakow
1. Drevny Kocur Krakow
We actually stumbled upon Drevny Kocur because we landed in Krakow hungry, and the photos looked promising. Little did we know it would end up setting the tone for how much we were going to love the food scene here.
The coffee was excellent, but the breakfast is what really stole the show. We ordered their scrambled eggs on toast with this incredible dill sauce that completely made the dish. It sounds simple, but it was one of those meals where every bite just worked. Fresh ingredients, comforting flavors, and somehow so much more memorable than the description makes it sound.
The space itself has a cool, casual feel and is conveniently located in Old Town near the Main Market Square, making it an easy stop before a day of exploring.

2. Cytat Cafe
Located in Kazimierz, Cytat Cafe is another spot where you’ll want to come hungry rather than just stopping in for a quick coffee.
The entire cafe is lined with books, which immediately gives it this cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend a few hours reading, chatting, or simply enjoying a slow morning.
We ordered the crepes and avocado toast with an egg, and both were fantastic. Honestly, this coffee may have been my favorite from our entire time in Krakow. Everything about this place felt thoughtful, from the food to the atmosphere, and it quickly became one of my favorite cafe stops of the trip!

3. Eszeweria
As far as atmosphere goes, it’s easy to see why Eszeweria is one of the most popular cafes in Krakow. Located in the Jewish Quarter, it’s full of character and feels like stepping into another era. The space is made up of several different rooms, each with its own personality, and there are cozy little corners everywhere that practically beg you to settle in for a while.
Fresh flowers sit on the tables, antique furniture fills the rooms, and candlelight adds to the charm. If the weather is nice, there’s also a beautiful tree-shaded beer garden in the back.
The cafe regularly hosts artistic and musical events, which feels fitting because the entire place has a creative energy to it. Whether you’re stopping in for coffee, a beer, or just a break from exploring Kazimierz, it’s a spot that leaves an impression.

4. Alchemia Bar
Okay, don’t be mad at me, but this is the one place on this list where I can’t technically vouch for the coffee because I didn’t actually order one. Rem grabbed a beer here instead, and he was very happy with that decision.
That said, Alchemia absolutely deserves a spot on this list because the atmosphere is unforgettable. It’s one of the most iconic spots in Kazimierz and feels dark, moody, and wonderfully eclectic. The floors are uneven, the furniture doesn’t match, and every room seems to have its own personality. Old laboratory equipment, antiques, artwork, and candlelit corners give the whole place a slightly mysterious feel.
It’s a popular spot for a reason, and while I can’t personally report on the coffee, I have a hard time believing a place this beloved isn’t doing it well. Whether you’re stopping in for caffeine during the day or a drink later in the evening, it’s worth experiencing.

5. Cafe Camelot
Cafe Camelot is one of those places that immediately makes you want to stay awhile. Tucked away in Old Town, it has such a charming atmosphere with beautiful interiors, cozy seating, and the kind of aesthetic that makes you want to linger over a coffee for an extra hour.
We stopped in for both food and coffee, and while I loved the coffee and the overall vibe, the food didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience for me. If I came back, I’d absolutely return—but I’d focus on the coffee, maybe add a pastry, and simply enjoy the atmosphere.
It’s a lovely spot and definitely one of the more memorable cafes we visited in Krakow.

6. Magia Cafe Bistro
Magia Cafe Bistro was a quick stop for us during a break on our free walking tour, and I’m so glad we popped in. We ordered their pistachio latte, which was absolutely delicious and one of the more unique drinks we had during our time in Krakow.
The cafe itself is bright, welcoming, and has both indoor seating and a cute courtyard patio outside. Even though our visit was brief, it left enough of an impression that I knew it deserved a spot on this list!

Are you ready to experience some of the best cafes in Krakow?!
The cafe scene here completely won me over. Between the cozy interiors, incredible coffee, lively atmosphere, and the way so many spots seamlessly transition from coffee shop to bar, it added so much to our experience in the city. There’s truly no shortage of great cafes in Krakow! If you’ve been to Krakow and have a favorite cafe that I missed, please let me know!
