Looking for the best St. Pete Beach bars? You’ve come to the right place! As a longtime Tampa Bay local and beach enthusiast, I’ve spent countless sunny days exploring the coolest spots along St. Pete’s stunning shoreline. St. Pete Beach is full of spots that make you want to kick back, sip something cold, and soak in the sun.

From casual tiki bars to lively beachfront hangouts, these St. Pete Beach bars have everything you need for a fun day or night out. Whether you’re after frozen cocktails, craft beer, or just a place to watch the waves, I’ve rounded up my favorite spots you won’t want to miss!

UPDATE: Due to Hurricane Helene some of these St. Pete Beach bars are in the process of being rebuilt and restored.

Fun St. Pete Beach Bars

1. Jimmy B’s

Jimmy’s B’s, located behind the Beachcomber Hotel, is a lively bar that has breathtaking sunset views, live music every day, and a laid-back vibe that’s perfect for unwinding on St. Pete Beach.

If you enjoy live music on the beach, Jimmy B’s is the place to go. While other St. Pete Beach bars have live music as well, Jimmy B’s has two stages and brings in two live bands every single day of the year!

It gets pretty busy on weekend nights, but during the day there’s usually plenty of open space with multiple bars to order from and an open patio. If you’re here at sunset they even pass around free shooters for everyone to enjoy.

They also have a full menu for lunch and dinner if you come hungry!

2. PCI

Postcard Inn Beach Bar, also known as PCI Beach Bar by locals and frequenters, is a staple if you’re looking for a wild beach day. It’s an iconic party beach bar, especially during Spring Break.

They often have live music or DJs, making it hard to resist dancing with your fun drink in hand. If dancing isn’t your thing, they also have a few beach volleyball nets and cornhole.

I would say Jimmy B’s has a mix of all age ranges, and while PCI has a little bit of a mix too, the crowd here tends to be on the younger side (early 20s-30s).

PCI is definitely the hotel to stay at if you’re looking for a fun weekend in St. Pete Beach.

Update: PCI is unfortunately currently closed.

3. Coconut Charlie’s

Coconut Charlie’s Beach Bar & Grill is the perfect blend of laid-back relaxation and lively entertainment, making it probably my favorite St. Pete Beach bar. I love that this spot offers the best of both worlds with its chilled-out atmosphere, live music, beach volleyball, and other fun games.

If you’re in the mood to kick back, there are plenty of hammocks where you can unwind. The beach bar menu has classic beach bar drinks and some bites, but if you’re craving something more, their full restaurant inside the Hilton Garden Inn serves outstanding food and craft cocktails.

They have live music in the evenings throughout the week and DJs over the weekend. (A great vibe for St. Pete bach parties or if you’re celebrating a birthday.)

The best part about the 3 bars previously mentioned is they are all right next to each other and you can easily pop in and out of each of them.

4. Undertow

Undertow Beach Bar is a divey little gem that you just gotta love. The drinks are stiff and cheap, and this spot gives off a genuine local vibe. They’ve got beach volleyball, a pool table, cornhole, and even ring the bull.

Feeling like you want to splurge? Go wild with an upside-down shot for around $50, where bartenders hang from the ceiling bars and pour a shot straight into your mouth. I’m not going to lie, I won’t be spending my money on that, but I have witnessed it and it’s certainly entertaining!

My favorite touch is the cute little stream running through the middle of the bar, complete with floating rubber duckies. Whenever I visit, a duckie race is a must—loser buys the next round!

Heads up: there is no parking here, so you will have to find it elsewhere.

Other St. Pete Beach Bars

Salty’s Tiki Bar at TradeWinds Island Grand Resort is another great spot to check out, especially if you’re staying in one of the hotels or nearby.

If you’re looking for something less “beach bar-y” but with stunning views, don’t miss Level 11 at the Bellwether Beach Resort—one of the best rooftop bars in St. Pete Beach!

Which of these St. Pete beach bars are you visiting first?!
