There’s something magical about the holiday season, and one of my favorite ways to get into the festive spirit is by checking out all the incredible Christmas lights in Tampa. From dazzling neighborhood displays to themed holiday events, Tampa truly knows how to bring the sparkle. Whether you’re looking for a cozy evening drive, a family-friendly outing, or a festive date night, I’ve rounded up the best spots to see Christmas lights in Tampa this season!

Where to See Christmas Lights in Tampa

1. Armature Works

Armature Works always feels magical this time of year. The entire space gets decked out with sparkling Christmas lights, a giant tree, and tons of festive photo ops.

Grab a hot cocoa, walk along the river, and let the whole vibe just soak in. And don’t miss the annual holiday tree lighting, it’s basically the official start of the season there! And while you’re there, definitely check out some of the amazing Tampa Riverwalk restaurants!

2. Sparkman Wharf

Sparkman Wharf is one of my favorite spots to soak up Tampa’s holiday vibes. The waterfront venue transforms into a festive wonderland each year, with twinkling lights, holiday decor, and plenty of cozy spots to grab a seasonal drink or snack. They often have live music and events during the holiday season, making it a perfect stop for a Christmas lights outing in Tampa—whether it’s a date night, a family evening, or a festive hang with friends.

3. Tampa Bay Festival of Lights

The Tampa Bay Festival of Lights at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds is one of the biggest and most popular light displays in the area. It’s a drive-through experience with over a million lights, animated displays, and tunnels that glow in every color.

After driving through, you can park and check out Santa’s Village, where you’ll find carnival rides, snacks, and photos with Santa. It’s a fun, family-friendly way to get into the holiday spirit, and since you can stay in your car for most of it, it’s also a cozy way to enjoy the lights on a chilly night.

4. Water Street

Water Street transforms into a winter wonderland during the holidays — it’s seriously one of the prettiest areas to walk around this time of year. The trees are wrapped in twinkling lights, and the streets are lined with festive decor that makes it feel so cozy and magical.

What I love about Water Street is that they have so many cool holiday events to get you in the spirit, like the Season Spectacular, Holiday Promenade, and A Night of Lights.

And the best part? It’s just a quick 5-minute walk from Sparkman Wharf, so you can totally hit both places up in one night and get the best of both worlds.

5. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens

Christmas Town at Busch Gardens is one of Tampa’s biggest holiday events. The park transforms with millions of lights, festive shows, holiday treats, and even a chance to meet Santa and Rudolph.

There are themed areas throughout the park, each with their own decorations and light displays, plus special seasonal food and drinks. And the best part? You can still ride all the roller coasters in between the holiday fun. It’s such a magical mix of thrill and Christmas cheer that’s perfect for families, couples, or even just a fun night out with friends.

You will need admission for this one, but it’s so worth it.

6. Pirate Water Taxi River of Lights

The Pirate Water Taxi River of Lights is such a fun and unique way to see the Christmas lights in Tampa! You’ll do a 45-minute cruise down the Hillsborough River while the boat is decked out in lights and festive decor, passing by some of the city’s best waterfront displays.

It’s cozy, festive, and gives you a totally different view of the city all lit up for the holidays. Definitely one of my favorite ways to get into the Christmas spirit in Tampa!

7. Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park

Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park is the heart of downtown Tampa’s holiday season. The park transforms into a festive wonderland complete with an outdoor ice-skating rink, cozy cottages where you can shop from local vendors, and tons of spots to grab a seasonal treat or hot cocoa.

You can even hop on the TECO Streetcar for free and explore nearby holiday lights along the Riverwalk. Whether you’re skating under the palm trees or just soaking in the Christmas vibes, Winter Village is such a fun (and super photogenic) spot to celebrate the holidays in Tampa.

8. Christmas in the Wild at ZooTampa

Christmas in the Wild at ZooTampa is one of the most magical family-friendly holiday experiences in Tampa. The zoo lights up with millions of twinkling lights, themed displays, and festive decorations that make it feel straight out of a Christmas movie.

There are holiday treats, seasonal drinks, and even Santa meet-and-greets. You can stroll through light tunnels, enjoy live entertainment, and still see some of your favorite animals after dark. It’s such a fun mix of wildlife and holiday cheer.

If you’re up for a little road trip beyond Tampa, there are a few spots nearby that’ll knock your socks off with their Christmas lights:

  • Enchant St. Petersburg – A giant Christmas light maze, an ice-skating trail, and lively holiday entertainment? Yes, please. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone who loves a whimsical holiday experience.
  • Holiday Lights in Largo Central Park – If you’re in the mood for something charming and cozy, head to Largo Central Park. The whole park gets decked out in mesmerizing light displays, and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a winter wonderland with all the holiday music playing.
  • Lights in Straub Park, St. Pete – If you’re near St. Pete, take a stroll through Straub Park. The lights here are so pretty, and with the waterfront right there, it makes everything feel extra special and festive.
