If you’ve been around here for a while, you know this isn’t my first LEVEL8 luggage review—and for good reason! I’ve been using my other two LEVEL8 suitcases for a while now, and they’ve been absolute game-changers for my travels. So, when I got the chance to try out their best-selling Voyageur 20” and 28” Set in Celadon, I was so ready—especially because my old checked luggage was literally falling apart (which is fair, I got it from a market in Colombia a few years ago). (RIP to that struggle.)

I’m excited to share my thoughts on this new set and the bonus Capture Carry-On 20” I got to try out, and break down all the features that make them stand out. If you’re looking for a high-quality luggage set that’s durable, functional, and sleek, keep reading!

Overview of LEVEL8 Luggage

If you’ve been on the hunt for sleek, functional, and seriously durable luggage, LEVEL8 might just be the travel upgrade you didn’t know you needed. I recently got my hands on three more of their suitcases—the Voyageur 20” and 28” Set in Celadon and the Capture Carry-On 20” in black and I love that they’re bringing something new to the table!

First off, can we talk about the colors of the Voyageur 20” and 28” Set? The two-tone celadon shade is such a standout. It’s not a color I see often in luggage, and I love that it feels both unique and sophisticated without being too loud. Then there’s the Capture Carry-On, which has more of a sleek, functional vibe with its softshell design and extra organization features.

But let’s get into what really matters—the features. LEVEL8 suitcases are built with thoughtful design elements that actually make travel easier (and not just look good in the airport).

We’re talking:

  • Effortless maneuverability – Their 360° quiet spinner wheels are next level. You truly don’t realize how much you’ve been struggling with other suitcases until you experience how smooth these roll. It’s like gliding on air!
  • Durability that lasts – The Voyageur set is made with German-made Makrolon® polycarbonate, which is lightweight yet super strong. Meanwhile, the Capture Carry-On is crafted from high-strength 1680D nylon, making it flexible and resilient.
  • Smart storage solutions – Both the Voyageur and Capture Carry-On have interior organization systems, compression features, and even a wet-dry separation pocket for those times when you have a swimsuit or damp clothes you don’t want mingling with the rest of your stuff.
  • Security you can trust – TSA-approved locks and durable YKK zippers keep your belongings safe while you travel.
  • Wide-handle innovation – The Voyageur set features a unique wide handle design that helps with balance, meaning no more toppling over when you’re rolling a fully packed bag. And maybe even more importantly, it gives you more space in your luggage!

From short getaways to long-haul adventures, these suitcases have something for every kind of traveler. Now, let’s break down each one individually so you can see which might be the best fit for your own travel style.

Level 8 Voyageur 20” and 28” Set Review

When it comes to luggage, I need something that’s durable, functional, and easy to maneuver—bonus points if it looks cute while doing it. The LEVEL8 Voyageur 20” and 28” Set in Celadon checks all of those boxes and then some.

Specs and First Impressions

  • Carry-On (20”) – 15.1”L x 9.8”W x 21.3”H | 8.1 lbs | 43L capacity
  • Checked Bag (28”) – 29.1”H x 16.6”W x 13.3”D | 12.4 lbs | 99 L
  • Material – German-made Makrolon polycarbonate (lightweight but tough)
  • Wheels360° spinner wheels that are whisper-quiet
  • SecurityTSA-approved lock for easy airport checks
  • Interior Features – Compression system, wet-dry separation pocket, and two spacious compartments
  • Colors – It comes in several different colors including black, navy, and darkolive (my runner up choice!). They also have the limited edition colors: celadon and yellowblack

Right out of the box, the Voyageur set feels premium. The micro-diamond finish on the exterior isn’t just there for aesthetics—it helps prevent scratches, so your luggage stays looking fresh after multiple trips. And that two-tone celadon color? Obsessed. It’s unique without being flashy, and I love that I won’t be mistaking my bag for someone else’s at baggage claim.

Design and Durability: Built to Handle Anything

LEVEL8 calls this set “crafted for adventure,” and I totally see why. The polycarbonate shell is lightweight but sturdy, meaning it holds up against the usual airport chaos—tossing into overhead bins, baggage handlers not-so-gently placing it on the carousel, and my own not-so-careful packing tendencies.

One of the biggest standouts? The wide handle design. If you’ve ever had a suitcase tip over because it was too top-heavy (me, every trip), this feature is a game changer. The wider base adds more stability, so you don’t have to fight to keep it upright.

Plus, it’s designed this way to allow for more storage inside—since there’s no handle bar running down the middle, you get a flatter, more spacious packing area to fit even more of your travel essentials.

I also love that the Voyageur Check-In 28” check has a front handle in addition to the top one. It’s such a small detail, but it makes grabbing the suitcase so much easier—whether you’re lifting off of the baggage carousel or tossing it into a trunk.

Travel Experience: Smooth and Stress-Free

Let’s talk wheels. The 360° spinner wheels on the Voyageur set are unreal. You truly don’t realize how much you’ve been struggling with other suitcases until you glide one of these across the floor. I wheeled it through the airport, over cobblestone sidewalks, and even through a hotel lobby with thick carpet, and it still felt effortless.

The interior is just as functional as the exterior. There’s a compression system that keeps everything neatly in place, plus a wet-dry separation pocket that’s perfect for toiletries or damp clothes. The 28” checked bag, in particular, is super spacious—ideal for long trips or anyone (me) who tends to overpack.

The only thing to note is that because of the wide handle, a backpack with a luggage strap won’t slide over it the traditional way. You can still loop it around, but it’s something to be aware of if you rely on that feature while traveling.

Pros + Cons

Pros:
  • Glides like a dream – The wheels are so smooth and quiet.
  • Sturdy but lightweight – Doesn’t add unnecessary weight to your luggage.
  • Great organization – Compression system + two large compartments.
  • Unique color – Easy to spot at baggage claim.
  • Wide handle for better balance – No more tipping suitcases!
Cons:
  • Backpack strap doesn’t fit traditionally over the wide handle – You can still wrap it around, but it’s something to keep in mind.
  • Not expandable – The 28” has plenty of space, but if you’re someone who likes expandable suitcases, this one doesn’t have that feature.

Who It’s Best For

The Voyageur set is perfect for travelers who want a mix of durability, style, and smooth maneuverability. The 20” carry-on is great for weekend trips or short getaways, while the 28” checked bag is ideal for longer trips where you need more space. If you’re looking for a lightweight, well-balanced suitcase that makes travel easier, this set is absolutely worth it.

LEVEL8 Capture Carry-On Review

If when it comes to a carry-on suitcase, you want something that’s lightweight, durable, and easy to maneuver—and bonus points if it has smart storage options, the LEVEL8 Capture Carry-On in Black checks all the boxes! It’s a solid pick for frequent travelers.

Specs and First Impressions

  • Dimensions – 22.8”L x 15”W x 9.25”H
  • Weight – 8.4 lbs
  • Capacity – 40L, expandable to 46L
  • Material – 1680D high-strength nylon exterior with eco-friendly RPET fabric interior
  • Wheels – Whisper-quiet 360° spinner wheels
  • Security – Built-in padlock and durable YKK Nylon Zippers
  • Interior Features – Suit compartment, wet/dry pocket, and multiple small organizational pockets

Right out of the box, the Capture Carry-On feels sturdy yet lightweight. The 1680D nylon fabric gives it a premium, durable feel, and I love that it’s a softside suitcase with extra flexibility. The black color keeps it sleek and professional, making it a great choice whether you’re traveling for business or leisure.

Smooth and Stable Maneuverability

The whisper-quiet 360° wheels are a standout feature—this suitcase glides smoothly over airport floors, carpet, and even uneven pavement. I also noticed that the solid base and sturdy aluminum handle help keep the suitcase steady while moving, so there’s no annoying wobbling.

The handle feels strong and comfortable to grip, and since the suitcase itself is lightweight, lifting it into an overhead bin is easy.

Packing and Organization: Designed for Efficiency

One of my favorite things about this suitcase is the well-thought-out storage. It has:

  • A front pocket for quick access to a 15.6” laptop or travel essentials.
  • Multiple small interior pockets to keep smaller items neatly stored.
  • A dedicated suit compartment to help keep dress clothes wrinkle-free.
  • A wet/dry pocket to separate damp items from the rest of your luggage.
  • Expandable capacity – The extra 6L of space is a game-changer when you need just a little more room.

Pros + Cons

Pros:
  • Smooth, quiet wheels – Moves effortlessly across different surfaces.
  • Lightweight yet sturdy – Durable nylon material keeps it agile without feeling flimsy.
  • Great organization – Plenty of pockets and compartments for easy packing.
  • Expandable capacity – Adds flexibility for those who need extra space.
  • Secure build – Built-in padlock and durable zippers for peace of mind.
Cons:
  • Softside design may not be for everyone – If you prefer hardside luggage for added impact protection, this might not be your first choice.

Who It’s Best For

The LEVEL8 Capture Carry-On is perfect for travelers who want a lightweight, well-organized, and smooth-rolling suitcase. If you’re someone who likes having quick-access pockets, expandable capacity, and a sleek, professional look, this is a great choice.

Which LEVEL8 Luggage is Your Perfect Match?

Alright, so after trying out five different LEVEL8 luggage options, I’ve got thoughts. The good news? They’re all high-quality, smooth-rolling, and durable as heck. The tricky part? They each have their own vibe, so it really comes down to what works best for you.

First off, here’s what you can count on no matter which one you choose:

  • Built to last – Whether it’s the tough hardshell or sturdy nylon, these suitcases are made to handle real travel, not just look cute in an airport.
  • 360° spinner wheels – You will be gliding through terminals like an absolute pro.
  • Smart compartments – No more suitcase chaos—everything has a place!

Now, let’s get into what makes each one stand out and find your perfect match!

The Capture Carry-On 20″

Best for: Over-packers, travelers who want extra space, or anyone who loves the flexibility of a softside suitcase.

This one is the biggest of the bunch when it comes to the LEVEL8 carry-ons I tried out with its expansion. So if you tend to bring home souvenirs (or just like having outfit options), this may be your winner. The front laptop pocket is super handy for quick access, and the softside design makes it more flexible when stuffing it into overhead bins.

Pros: Extra space, lightweight, laptop pocket = chef’s kiss for convenience.
Cons: Since it’s not a hardshell, it might not feel as protective for your belongings.

The Road Runner Carry-On 20”

Best for: Business travelers, digital nomads, or anyone who wants a laptop pocket in a hardshell.

This one is like the Capture Carry-On’s sleek, structured sibling. The padded front laptop pocket is a game-changer if you’re always pulling out your computer at airport security. It’s a little more compact, but that just means zero risk of being forced to gate-check.

Pros: Hardshell protection, laptop pocket, super smooth maneuvering.
Cons: Not expandable, so no extra room for oops-I-shopped-too-much moments.

The Textured Carry-On 20″

Best for: The stylish traveler who wants a carry-on that’s cute AND practical.

Listen. This one is gorgeous—that soft pink + the textured design? Obsessed. There are multiple color options including black, grey, navy, and olivine, but I couldn’t resist the pink! But beyond looks, the scratch-resistant finish means it stays looking cute even after being thrown around by baggage handlers. If you want something simple, durable, and aesthetic AF, this is your girl.

Pros: Super cute, lightweight, won’t show scuffs.
Cons: No laptop pocket or expandable feature.

The Voyageur 20”

Best for: Stylish carry-on travel with smart storage.

If you love a pop of color and a carry-on that’s as practical as it is cute, the Voyageur 20” is a solid pick. Again, you can go with more basic colors like black or navy, but I can never resist a fun color option!

It’s compact, lightweight, and still has all the durability of the others. Compared to the Road Runner, this one doesn’t have a laptop pocket but it’s great if you want a sleek, easy-to-maneuver option that still packs a punch.

Pros: Lightweight, stylish, fits in overhead bins easily.
Cons: No laptop pocket, doesn’t expand.

The Voyageur 28”

Best for: Longer trips or over-packers (no judgment, we’ve all been there).

If you need all the space, this is your go-to. The 28” Voyageur is made for extended trips, so if you like having extra outfits (or room for souvenirs), this one’s a dream. It still has the same smooth wheels and durable material as the smaller version but obviously holds way more. If you’re debating between this and the 20”, just get the set and save!

Pros: Tons of space, durable, stylish color.
Cons: Can’t carry on, heavier when fully packed.

So… Which One Should You Get?

Honestly, there’s no wrong choice—it just depends on what YOU need!

  • Want max space & expandability? Go for the Capture Carry-On.
  • Need a laptop pocket but love a hardshell? Road Runner is your BFF.
  • Care about style AND durability? The Textured Carry-On has your back.
  • Prefer a sleek, lightweight carry-on? The Voyageur 20” is calling your name.
  • Need all the space? The Voyageur 28” is the one.

No matter which one you go with, you’re getting top-tier quality, smooth handling, and stress-free packing—which is exactly what we all need when traveling!

LEVEL8 Luggage Review Final Thoughts

I can confidently say I love each of my LEVEL8 suitcases—every single one has its own purpose, and I rotate through them depending on the trip! My boyfriend is obsessed with The Road Runner Carry-On 20” and The Capture Carry-On 20”—he switches between them depending on whether he needs that little bit of extra space.

I do the same with The Textured Carry-On 20″ and The Voyageur 20”—I love that the Voyageur gives me a little more room thanks to its wide handle, making packing easier since everything lays flat. And while I’m definitely more of a carry-on girly, I do have the The Voyageur 28” for those rare occasions when I check a bag.

If you’re considering getting both, bundling the Voyageur Carry-On 2 Piece Set saves you up to $60—so honestly, if you need both, it’s totally worth it!
