As a Tampa local, I’ve spent countless meals exploring the city’s waterfront scene, and I’m sharing my top picks for the perfect mix of scenery, vibes, and seriously good food. From downtown Riverwalk gems to hidden spots tucked along the bay, these restaurants are a must for anyone who loves good eats with a view.

Waterfront Restaurants in Tampa
1. Salt Shack On The Bay
Salt Shack is pretty much a must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch waterfront restaurant in Tampa. It’s tucked away in south Tampa near the famous Rattlesnake Point, right by the Gandy Bridge. They showcase a Caribbean menu, and the food is simple, but delicious!
This laid-back spot offers two roof-covered pavilions—one for the restaurant and one for the bar. Both provide plenty of space to kick back and enjoy the views while you munch on some seriously delicious dishes. And if you come by water, you can even dock your boat right outside!
For starters, try the Caribbean Fritters or a cup of their lobster bisque—I swear, it’s one of the best in Tampa Bay. For the main event, the fish tacos and shrimp salad are both solid choices, especially if you’re in the mood for something fresh and light. And you have to try one of their tropical drinks. The guava piña colada is next-level, but the bloody mary is pretty epic too!

2. Jackson’s
Just a short stroll from Tampa’s Convention Center, you’ll find Jackson’s Bistro Bar & Sushi on Harbor Island. This waterfront restaurant has it all—great food, fantastic service, and stunning views of the Tampa cityscape and Garrison Channel. Whether you’re here for a casual meal or a special night out, it’s the perfect spot.
The menu is pretty expansive, with everything from market-fresh seafood to sushi rolls, sandwiches, and salads. It’s a go-to spot for Sunday brunch, which kicks off at 10:30 AM. If you’re a brunch lover, this place has a huge variety of specialties that’ll hit the spot every time.

3. American Social
Located right next door to Jackson’s, American Social also gives incredible views of Harbor Island. With four full-service bars and an award-winning menu, it’s no wonder it’s one of the top places to eat in downtown Tampa!
The American Social menu is a perfect representation of classic American comfort food with a twist. You’ll find sandwiches, meatballs, soups, salads, fish, and oysters—all elevated for a more refined dining experience.
The vibe here is super laid-back, with a heavy focus on sports and music, so if you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy the game while having great food and drinks, this is it. Expect an incredible atmosphere, happy hour from 4 to 7 PM Monday to Friday, and a super fun weekend brunch. Oh, and for the ladies, every brunch entree includes complimentary bottomless mimosas—so you’re definitely in for a good time.

They also have several other locations including one in Orlando and Miami! It can be an especially fun option for birthdays, spring break crews, or bachelorette parties in Tampa.

4. Hula Bay Club
If you’re looking for a spot packed with local character, Hula Bay Club is a laid-back local hangout you can’t miss. The outside terrace here is absolutely amazing, especially during milder weather. Enjoy the water views and sunset while listening to live music—it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The cocktails here are refreshing, and the menu is filled with fresh seafood options. You can’t go wrong with their sushi, poke, or Hawaiian-inspired tapas—everything is flavorful and fresh.
I will say, the bar service wasn’t top-notch when we visited, but the delicious food definitely made up for it. I’m hopeful it was just a fluke and plan to return soon for another round of amazing dishes.

5. Oystercatchers
Perched right at the edge of the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, Oystercatchers offers unrivaled bay views and is surrounded by palm trees and modern decor—a picture-perfect spot for a date night.
It’s a no-brainer that Oystercatchers has earned its reputation as one of the best waterfront restaurants in Tampa. The signature dishes are lobster mac n’ cheese and surf n’ turf plates, but you can also enjoy the freshest catch, whether it’s blackened, sauteed, or wood-grilled. Their tuna and Brussels sprouts were particularly memorable.
I’ve also heard their brunch is something special, so I’ll be heading back soon to check out their caviar bar, charcuterie bar, and seafood section.

6. Whiskey Joe’s
Whiskey Joe’s isn’t your average dining spot—it’s full of island-inspired charm, with frozen cocktails, an expansive seafood menu, and a legendary vibe that makes it stand out.
The weekends at Whiskey Joe’s are especially lively, with boats and jetskis lining the shore and the whole place buzzing with energy. The food and drinks are great, but it’s really the entertaining environment that keeps people coming back.
Their happy hour runs every weekday from 3 to 7 PM, and you can enjoy some of my favorite bites, like their nachos, buffalo chicken quesadillas, and refreshing mojitos.

7. Anchor & Brine
Anchor & Brine is phenomenal—right along the Riverwalk with seriously beautiful views of the bay. The outdoor seating is perfect on a sunny day, and the food matches the vibe! Not to mention the service is exceptional.
I highly recommend starting with the ceviche, and don’t sleep on the lobster roll with a side of fried avocado! I actually enjoyed their lobster rolls more than many I’ve had in Maine, it’s that good!
It’s a go-to spot for laid-back dining by the water. And if you’re feeling up for it, take a little stroll on the Riverwalk after.
