If you are in the mood for eerie stories, haunted history, and the kind of night that makes you dramatically check over your shoulder on the walk back to the car, these Tampa ghost tours and haunted houses are absolutely for you.

Tampa Bay has a surprisingly spooky side. Between Ybor City’s haunted buildings, downtown Tampa’s old cemeteries and historic theaters, creepy walking tours, haunted ships, and full-blown Halloween horror parks, there are plenty of ways to lean into the paranormal.

Some of these run year-round, while the haunted attractions are seasonal, so always double-check dates before you book.

Tampa Ghost Tours

1. Ybor City Ghost Tour

Dates: Nightly, year-round
Cost: Around $30 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12
Duration: About 2 hours

Ybor already has such a moody, historic feel at night, so a ghost tour here just makes sense. The Ybor City Ghost Tour takes you through one of Tampa’s most haunted neighborhoods while sharing stories about restless spirits, old cigar factories, historic buildings, and the darker side of Cigar City.

This is one of my favorite spooky options if you want a tour that also works as a fun night out. You can pair it with dinner at one of the best Ybor City restaurants, drinks at a Ybor bar, or more exploring from my full guide to things to do in Ybor City.

2. Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tour

Dates: Select dates, especially around spooky season
Cost: $15 general admission, free for Tampa Theatre members
Duration: About 2 hours

Tampa Theatre is already one of the most magical buildings in the city, but the Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tour lets you see the landmark in a totally different way. The tour goes from lobby to backstage while sharing stories of ghostly guests, eternal employees, and paranormal activity reported inside the theater.

It is creepy, yes, but also just a really cool way to appreciate one of Tampa’s most beautiful historic spaces. These tours sell out quickly, so do not wait until the last second if this is on your list.

3. Downtown Tampa Ghost Tour

Dates: Nightly, year-round
Cost: Around $30 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12
Duration: About 1.5-2 hours

The Official Downtown Tampa Ghost Tour is perfect if you want spooky stories with a heavy dose of Tampa history. This one explores downtown’s haunted past, including old burial grounds, yellow fever history, historic hotels, and the kind of stories that make downtown feel a little different after dark.

I love this option if you are staying downtown or planning to spend the night around the Tampa Riverwalk. Grab dinner first, take the tour, then end with a drink somewhere nearby if you need to calm your nerves. Very valid.

4. Tampa Terrors

Dates: Nightly availability
Cost: Tickets typically start around $25
Duration: About 1 hour, with extended options available

Tampa Terrors is another downtown Tampa ghost tour that hits haunted and historic stops around the city. Their standard tour covers several spooky locations, and you can usually upgrade to an extended version if you want more stories and more walking.

This one is family-friendly, but still spooky enough to make it fun for adults. You’ll get haunted history and eerie legends.

5. Ghost Party Haunted Tours

Dates: Tours run every day and night, with VIP ghost hunting options on select nights
Cost: Varies by tour and age
Duration: Varies by tour

Ghost Party Haunted Tours is for the person in the group who does not just want to hear about ghosts; they want equipment. These tours lean into the paranormal investigation side with ghost-hunting gear, haunted sites, VIP ghost hunts, and even dinner add-ons at haunted restaurants.

This is probably the most hands-on Tampa ghost tour on the list, so if you are a true paranormal girlie, this is your moment. I, personally, would be brave for approximately four minutes and then need emotional support fries.

6. Nightly Spirits Haunted Pub Crawl

Dates: Public and private tour availability varies
Cost: Individual tickets are $29.95; private tours start at $350 for up to 10 people, depending on season
Duration: 2.5 hours

If your ideal spooky night includes haunted stories and a drink in hand, Nightly Spirits is such a fun fit. Their Tampa tours combine ghost stories with bar stops around Ybor City, so it feels more like a haunted night out than a traditional walking tour.

7. Silent Slayer Ghost Tours

Dates: Thursday-Sunday at 8 PM for Safety Harbor; Tarpon Springs tours run year-round on posted dates
Cost: From around $35 per person
Duration: About 1.5 hours

Silent Slayer Ghost Tours is a great add if you are open to ghost tours beyond Tampa proper. They run paranormal walking tours in Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs, mixing haunted history, true crime, local legends, and ghost-hunting equipment.

The Safety Harbor ghost tour is especially fun if you want a smaller-town spooky vibe. You can make it a full evening with my guide to things to do in Safety Harbor.

8. Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail

Dates: 2026 season begins September 25 and runs select nights through November 1
Cost: Tickets start around $27 and must be purchased online in advance

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail is one of the biggest haunted attractions near Tampa, and it is not playing around. Expect multiple outdoor haunted trails, a haunted hayride, escape games, laser tag, food, entertainment, and a midway area.

This one is in Plant City, so it is an easy-ish drive from Tampa, but wear closed-toe shoes and check the bag policy before you go. It may not be suitable for children under 12, which honestly tells me everything I need to know about my own bravery level.

9. UNDead in the Water

Dates: September 26 and October 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and 31, 2026
Cost: Varies by date and ticket type

UNDead in the Water is Tampa’s nautical haunted attraction aboard the historic American Victory Ship. You move through multiple decks of a WWII cargo ship while trying to survive an interactive zombie apocalypse storyline.

If you want something that feels very Tampa, this is it. A haunted ship right by Channelside is creepy, unique, and honestly a little too perfect. Pair it with dinner nearby from my guide to Channelside restaurants.

10. Scream-A-Geddon

Dates: 2026 dates run from late August through early November, with hours varying by date
Cost: Prices vary by date; tickets are usually cheaper online than at the box office

Scream-A-Geddon is a full horror park in Dade City with multiple haunted attractions, scare zones, interactive haunts, food, and drinks. This is not a cute little pop-in haunted house. This is an entire night of being emotionally attacked in the name of seasonal fun.

If your group has a few serious Halloween people, this is probably the one they are already texting about. Buy tickets early if you know your date, because prices can change.

11. Hillsborough River State Park Haunted Woods

Dates: October 16-17, 2026
Cost: 2026 ticket details TBD

Haunted Woods at Hillsborough River State Park is a seasonal fundraiser that turns the park into a spooky outdoor experience. The event typically includes scare zones, haunted trail elements, volunteers in costume, and a more community-driven Halloween feel than the bigger commercial haunts.

This is a fun one if you like the idea of a haunted forest, but want something that still supports a local park. Just remember that because it is outdoors, shoes and weather matter. Do not show up in sandals and optimism.

12. Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens

Dates: Select nights September 11-November 1, 2026
Cost: Prices vary by date and ticket type; event starts at 7 PM with gate access typically beginning at 5 PM

Busch Gardens goes full spooky season with Howl-O-Scream, a separately ticketed nighttime Halloween event with haunted houses, scare zones, roaming characters, sinister shows, and thrill rides after dark.

This is one of the biggest Halloween events in Tampa, and it is definitely more intense than family-friendly zoo Halloween energy. Check the event policies before you go, and remember this ticket does not include regular daytime admission.
