When it comes to enjoying a night out, there are plenty of awesome bars in Dunedin to choose from. As someone who loves checking out local spots, I’ve had my fair share of great nights out in Dunedin (and even better day drinking days). Whether you’re into dive bars or a place to dance the night away, Dunedin’s bar scene has something for everyone. Let’s dive into the best spots to grab a drink and soak in the lively atmosphere of Dunedin’s nightlife!

Best bars in Dunedin

HiFi

Rooftop bars are always going to make my lists! They usually have some yummy drinks with a chill vibe, and of course, stunning views. HiFi is located at the Fenway Hotel where we have stayed during some of our weekend getaways to Dunedin.

We went a bit before sunset to beat the crowd we thought might gather in the evening, and we succeeded. It was the perfect spot for us to lounge and enjoy a drink and the view of the Clearwater Harbor before we headed back downtown to do some more exploring! (Checking out the awesome bars in the area is just one of the many fun things to do in Dunedin!)

If you’re hungry, grab a bite at one of the best restaurants in Dunedin, also conveniently located inside of the Fenway Hotel, HEW Parlor & Chophouse.

Circle 1852

A visit to one of the newest (and most unique) bars in Dunedin, Circle 1852, is a must! Imagine sipping on a fancy craft cocktail at a carousel bar that gently rotates, giving off those iconic New Orleans carousel bar feels. It’s basically a merry-go-round for grown-ups, and I’m here for it!

It’s located within The Dunedin Mix, a unique open-air food hall and event space! Not only do they serve up some amazing eats, but you can also enjoy a variety of boutique pop-ups and lively entertainment in the evenings (like dueling pianos!).

Sonder Social Club

Sonder Social Club is a Dunedin bar where craft cocktails meet a cool and inviting atmosphere. This hotspot in Dunedin is renowned for its creative concoctions that will undoubtedly elevate your cocktail experience. From classic favorites with a twist to innovative creations that push the boundaries, Sonder Social Club’s drink menu is full of delicious options.

While this isn’t as hidden or secretive as a speakeasy, you do get a little bit of those speakeasy vibes once you enter. It has cozy, dim lighting with shelves of liquors adorned with one of those sliding ladders you often see in libraries, along with my favorite touch— the speakeasy-style bathrooms that have the doors hidden within bookshelves.

If you have the chance to visit around the holidays, this place is even more special! They totally deck it out and it is full of holiday cheer.

Reboot

If you’re looking for one of the most fun bars in Dunedin, head to Reboot! It has such an awesome retro vibe lit with black light and neon decor, making it an extra cool vibe for a nightcap! This spot isn’t your average bar; it’s a playground for adults filled with classic arcade games, darts, pinball, video games, and more. Day or night, we absolutely love this spot!

Crown and Bull

The outdoor vibe at Crown and Bull is simply unbeatable. Imagine cozy seating arrangements, twinkling lights, and a lively crowd, perfect for soaking up the Florida sunshine or enjoying a starlit night. Crown and Bull is also known for its dynamic lineup of special events. From live music performances to themed parties and everything in between, there’s always something exciting happening!

Blur Nightclub and Showbar

If you want to visit one of the best bars in Dunedin for dancing the night away, the dance floor at Blur is calling your name! It’s known for its energetic atmosphere and lively dance floors.

Blur is open Tuesday-Sunday and every night they are open you can expect something fun going on! Drag shows, live music, and even karaoke night are all on the weekly calendar! With a lineup like that, as well as nightly DJs, I promise you won’t be bored!

The Nest at Caracara

The Nest at Caracara is a gem that effortlessly blends the charm of a French cocktail lounge with the versatility of a high-end event space, making it perfect for any occasion. Their cocktails are super fun! We went around Halloween and they had a seasonal cocktail menu, fun decor, and even some interactive games!

They are only open on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 PM – 11 PM. It’s the perfect place to unwind and have a few drinks with some friends after enjoying Caracara’s amazing food!

Skips Bar

Skip’s Bar is a place where the charm lies in its no-frills, laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect if you want a true dive bar experience. What Skip’s Bar lacks in fancy decor, it makes up for in character and authenticity. It’s the kind of place where you can kick back with friends, enjoy a few stiff drinks without breaking the bank, and challenge each other to a game of darts.

When my mom was in town visiting this was one of our stops on our bar-hopping tour through Dunedin, and this was her favorite!

Rosie’s Tavern

Rosie’s Tavern is another place that feels like a true local neighborhood hangout. It’s a comfortable space with inviting vibes. It also has a dog-friendly patio, perfect for enjoying the sunny Florida weather while sipping on one of their 20 beers on tap or a glass of wine. Plus, who can resist free popcorn to snack on? Plus, they have live entertainment throughout the week!

The Honu

The Honu is a little tropical slice of Hawaii right in Dunedin. What started as a humble Hawaiian diner-style eatery has blossomed into a full-fledged Polynesian tiki experience that captures the essence of island living.

The Honu’s outdoor Tiki Bar is a hub of exotic flavors and island-inspired cocktails, complete with the sounds of tropical music. It’s the perfect spot to kick back, relax, and get you into a vacay mindset (even if you’re not on vacation!).

If you want a deeper dive into the world of rum, the Ka Pakele Rum Bar, nestled within The Honu, offers an exclusive selection of the finest rums from around the globe! Reservations required.

Side note, this is another place that goes all out for the holidays!
